Why the stack matters now
Your site has two audiences and they want the same thing for different reasons.
Buyers leave. Every additional second of load time measurably costs conversions, and it costs more on mobile, and it costs most in markets furthest from your origin server. A WordPress install in Frankfurt serving a buyer in Stockholm through three caching plugins and a page builder is not a competitive experience.
AI crawlers are less patient and less capable than Googlebot. They execute JavaScript poorly or not at all. If your primary content only exists after client-side hydration, there's a meaningful chance the model simply never sees it. Heavy JS frameworks are quietly one of the biggest GEO liabilities on the modern web.
Astro solves both. It ships zero JavaScript by default and sends plain, complete HTML. Cloudflare Pages serves it from an edge node near your buyer, wherever they are.
